| Visit Georgetown,
named after King George III of England, which is an interesting blend of
old and new cultures proved in the mix styles of architecture. One part
of the town, described as a Chinatown, is full of Chinese
characteristics with modern skyscrapers whereas the remnants of the
colonial period are still remained in the other side of the town. The
tour includes Fort Cornwallis which was built by the British East
India Company on the site of Francis Light's historic landing in 1786.
Originally a wooden stockade, it was replaced by a concrete structure
built by convict labor, in 1804. Then, proceed to visit the Penang
Museum, built in 1821, which houses a fine collection of old
photographs, maps, charts and other historical relics, and the world's
fourth largest reclining Buddha statue with its majestic length of 33m.
