Established in 1948, LONE PINE was the first hotel on Batu Ferringhi Beach, a haven for expatriates and their families fleeing the severe winters of home. Today, completely refurbished, Lone Pine still retains much of its old world charm with its privacy and idyllic setting of landscaped gardens.

Lone Pine is located at Batu Ferringhi on the northwestern coast of Penang Island. Set on Penang's finest beach, the hotel is a mere 17km or 20 minutes from Georgetown and 31km or 45 minutes from Penang International Airport. Buses and taxis are plentiful and readily available.

:: HOTEL FACILITIES

On a hot afternoon, guests can laze in hammocks in the shade of tall Casuarina trees or cool off in the refreshing waters of our swimming pool, or choose to pamper yourself with an invigorating massage under open blue skies. The more active can saddle up at the paddock or engage in popular water sports activities along the beach. If you wish to do downtown or around the island, limousine, buses and taxis are readily available.

:: RESTAURANTS & DINING

Lone Pine's restaurant, The Bungalow, is situated facing the beach and pool deck. For traditional dining with a contemporary twist, the menu at The Bungalow features eclectic options ranging from Hainanese Chicken Rice to Fish Curry to Filet Mignon.

Guests also have the alternative of dining alfresco at The Deck Bar. It is the place to unwind and sip your favourite cocktails, enjoy your snacks and tall coolers under matured Casuarina trees, all in great view of the sunset.

In any case, formal attire is not a requirement - just a hearty appetite!

Each guestroom offers full room service and a wide range of amenities, which include a 25" colour TV with satellite programmes, IDD telephone, fridge, coffee and tea making facilities, hairdryer and in-room safes.

Only two or three stories high, nearly all guestrooms face the sea and are thoughtfully spread out over almost 4 acres of serene landscaped gardens, affording guests unsurpassed serenity and privacy.
